Extra! Extra! (12:52 PM)
I havent been updating my blog for quite awhile. It isnt read by people anyway.. But I guess it's appropriate for me to key in an entry every once in awhile just for my own reference sake.
Anyway, it's near ORD date. I can feel it. There's nth much to rejoice about actually. It only means stepping out to the next phase of life, to the society. Leaving this second home of mine can be quite sad. All the comrades I've made, especially my OCS coursemates, are the greatest gift army gave me. Yesterday 5 of my guys were charged for smoking in bunk, as well as gambling.
Joshua caught them and proceeded to give the charge, with everyone's agreement. I agree being the DyS1 he always had to play the bad guy role. I pity the 5 of them, I realised sometimes I really side my men too much, especially people in my branch who completes outstanding work for me. I usually fight for them. But this time round it's really clear cut and nothing much to negotiate about. They did something wrong and they'd have to pay for the mistake.
Happened to be the Friday DO, so the following day I took Nizam to train up for his IPPT. I realised some people just don't like to exercise.. I bet after NS Nizam would stop exercising.. lol. Zhiwen and Nizam are Pes A/B status, physically and combat fit, just that they're not athletic.. I guess that's the reason why they couldn't meet the SOC requirement or they'd make really good 3SG.
I guess I really appreciate the army life, sometimes even love and embrace it. Definitely less politics, more meaning to your work. I guess if I had been a scholar, by signing on means high pay.. or IF my family was rich, I would have been in the force. I guess aim of my life is still very clear. I want to take the risk and make it big, and get out of this rat race, get out of the cycle of poverty. I want my parents to retire with a better life, and the next generation of my family to be of a higher social status and not worry about education and standard of living.
